ACMPE FORUM REPRESENTATIVE

The ACMPE Forum Representative is responsible to provide communication, coordination and support for ACMPE activities within Illinois MGMA and among its members.  He/She should provide certification support activities and a professional network for ACMPE members with the state and provide Illinois MGMA with access to ACMPE resources to help enrich professional development opportunities for the membership.

AFFILIATE

This committee is responsible to identify synergistic relationships between practice managers and vendors, assist with increasing membership, which will benefit vendors increasing their interest and participation, work with other Board members on committees to achieve the goals of Illinois MGMA and provide creative ideas to encourage member/vendor communications. The committee serves as an advisory committee to the Board of Directors.

EDUCATION & EVENT COMMITTEE

This committee's primary function shall be to organize and provide educational opportunities for the members based on the ACMPE core Body of Knowledge. The committee will also survey the members of Illinois MGMA to determine their areas of interest and then seek qualified individuals as speakers or educators. Educational opportunities shall include, but not be limited to, a minimum of two conferences per calendar year. The Education Committee shall at all times be chaired by the Vice President of the Illinois MGMA Executive Board.

LEGISLATIVE & ADVOCACY COMMITTEE CHAIR

This committee’s primary function is to follow pertinent state and national legislative activity affecting healthcare and the medical practice. The committee should make reports on legislative activity to the Board of Directors as needed. The committee should also provide timely updates and information to the membership while promoting and providing advocacy tools to the membership.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

This committee’s primary function is to create and oversee programs that contribute to the annual growth and retention of the general membership. The Membership Committee is also responsible for an annual survey (August) to determine membership satisfaction and help shape the general direction for the association based on the membership’s needs.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

This committee shall nominate a candidate to the Board whenever a vacancy occurs in the Board, with said candidate to be elected by a majority vote of the remaining members of the Executive Board. The Nominating Committee shall at all times be chaired by the Immediate Past President of the Illinois MGMA Executive Board with an additional two volunteer voting members being required.

PAYER COMMITTEE

This committee’s primary function is develop relationships with the major Payers in Illinois and to monitor payer policies and procedures and communicate to our membership to major changes that could impact reimbursement. This committee is also responsible to help our members with their Payer questions where applicable. This committee is also responsible to help plan the agenda for Payer Meetings with the Executive Director and Vice President.

STUDENT OUTREACH

This committee’s primary function is develop partnerships between Illinois MGMA, university programs and medical practice management professionals to introduce and prepare students for careers in medical practice management. This committee will be responsible to introduce Illinois MGMA to University MHA Program leaders and encourage student membership with Illinois MGMA. The committee will also work with the Board of Directors to identify and develop formal links between student members and medical group management professionals to provide student members information about medical practice management as a career track and help them gain real world perspective.
